Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
GENERAL:
  • Exercises control over the operational and sales functions of multiple banking centers, working closely with managers.
  • Required to be present within each assigned banking center, a minimum of once a month. Additional visits may be necessary as needed.
  • Communicates and ensures adherence to all bank initiatives, compliance, security, and operational policies and procedures as well as financial loss standards. Communicates corporate initiatives and priorities to ensure direct reports have a clear understanding.
  • Drives all aspects of First Mid Bank & Trust's sales and services process.
  • Develops daily and weekly, individual, branch sales plans, that tie into overall departmental goals. Provides daily motivation and coaching of staff to ensure accountability and achievement of assigned sales/referral goals.
  • Risk management oversight as associated with the profit and loss and daily operations.
  • Responsible for collaborating with Regional Deposit Manager and business partners for the annual budgeting of deposit balance growth, non-interest income, and expenses, as well as capital expenditures for the assigned market area(s).
  • Responsible for leading the team to ensure an exceptional customer and team member experience, by answering questions and owning issues as arise.
  • Responsible for continual training and development of staff, which includes, but is not limited to the following areas: sales, operational, customer service, product knowledge, risk management, policies, and procedures. Maintains thorough product knowledge.
  • May be responsible for completing of banking center self-audits.
  • Responsible for reviewing resources to ensure market efficiencies.
  • Assists ABM/BM in conducting performance evaluations, providing recommendations, and initiating hiring, discipline, and promotion or termination of staff. Identifies and nurtures the development of talent to aid in succession planning.
  • Meets with branch staff regularly (both 1:1 and in group meetings) to organize sales efforts, communicate procedural/product changes, and resolve issues to optimize branch performance and employee engagement. Establish regular coaching opportunities with each team member to review goals and highlight further personal development.
  • Monitors the competitive environment by staying informed of changes in the financial services industry. Assesses competitors' rates and services, determines their impact on the branch and informs Regional Manager of their implications and opportunities.
  • May be responsible for corporate initiatives that require overnight stays and/or travel.
  • Completes required training associated with job function and performs related duties as assigned.
SALES:
  • Works closely with Regional Deposit Manager and other business units in growing deposits, loans, and sales of other bank products
  • Responsible for meeting with top customers within the assigned market(s) periodically to ensure customer satisfaction and build relationships.
  • Collaborates with Branch Managers to identify opportunities to expand and maintain existing consumer and business banking relationships, while displaying sales leadership.
  • Works with Branch Management to develop goals for the retail team and assesses the progress of the individuals and the branch to meet corporate initiatives.
  • Required to make customer visits and sales calls for customer retention and growth.
  • Represents the company in various civic and community functions to further enhance its image and develop additional business.
  • Communicates and coaches corporate initiatives to generate understanding from the team and connect to the Banks' values and culture.
Qualifications
Education:
  • Associates Degree in a related field, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
Experience:
  • Minimum 5 years of retail banking management experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of sales management experience with a proven track record of driving sales, both individually and as a leader of a sales team.
Skills:
  • Must be able to demonstrate an understanding of advanced math functions that will allow for the analysis of credit and financial information.
