Pinon Unified School District is currently seeking a Certified Substitute Teacher to join our team. As a Certified Substitute Teacher, you will have the rewarding opportunity to provide quality education to students in the absence of regular classroom teachers. Pinon Unified School District has a proud history of providing the best education available to the children of our community. Established in 1984 with just 400 students, we have grown to educate students in preschool through grade 12 at three campuses. We are committed to excellence in education, and we are looking for a substitute teacher who shares this passion.


Responsibilities
  • Follow lesson plans left by the absent teacher
  • Attend to the physical and emotional needs of students in the classroom
  • Adhere to the school’s policies and procedures
  • Maintain a positive learning environment for students
  • Effectively manage the classroom
  • Use appropriate disciplinary measures when necessary
  • Communicate with the regular classroom teacher and school administration as needed

Requirements

  • Possess a valid teaching substitute certificate
  • Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and best practices in teaching
  • Ability to engage students and create a positive learning environment
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to changing circumstances
