Palletizing Coordinator

Overview:

As a Palletizing Coordinator at our Cherry Packing Facility, you will be responsible for overseeing the palletizing process to ensure that cartons are stacked and organized correctly and that inventory is accurately tracked. Your primary duties will include verifying that cartons are palletized according to specifications, coordinating pallet tagging, and maintaining accurate inventory records. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with warehouse personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

Carton Verification:

• Oversee the palletizing process to ensure that cartons are stacked on pallets according to specified patterns or configurations.
• Verify that cartons are palletized in accordance with product specifications, customer orders, and shipping requirements.
• Conduct visual inspections of palletized cartons to identify any damaged or improperly stacked items and take corrective action as needed.

Pallet Tagging:

• Coordinate the tagging of pallets with identifying information, such as product codes, lot numbers, and destination details.
• Ensure that pallet tags are affixed securely to each pallet and that information is accurately recorded and legible.
• Maintain a system for tracking pallet inventory and updating records as pallets are tagged and moved throughout the warehouse.

Inventory Tracking:

• Implement procedures for accurately tracking inventory levels and locations of palletized products within the warehouse.
• Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to reconcile physical inventory with system records and identify any discrepancies.
• Work closely with inventory control personnel to resolve inventory-related issues and ensure accuracy in inventory management.

Communication and Coordination:

• Communicate effectively with warehouse personnel to coordinate palletizing activities and prioritize tasks based on production schedules and shipping deadlines.
• Collaborate with shipping coordinators, forklift operators, and other team members to ensure timely and accurate palletization of orders.
• Provide guidance and training to warehouse staff on proper palletizing techniques and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in warehouse operations, palletizing, or inventory control roles preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow instructions and specifications.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with pallet tagging systems and inventory tracking software is desirable.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks or forklifts safely and efficiently (forklift certification may be required).
