Description:

The Program Manager, Services to Unaccompanied Children oversees the Safe Release and Home Study/Post Release Services (HS/PRS) Programs. The Safe Release program includes the digital fingerprint screening program for sponsors seeking custody of unaccompanied children. The HS/PRS program assesses the needs of and provides support services to unaccompanied children reunifying with their sponsors. This is a remote position, though occasional on-site trainings and meetings may be required at the Catholic Pastoral Center or at satellite locations in Tullahoma and Columbia.

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of federal contracts and updates for Safe Release and HS/PRS programs.
  • Participates in training to ensure that services and reporting comply with Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), Global Refuge (formerly Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Services), and United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). Adheres to programmatic and contractual timelines, rules of behavior and program manuals.
  • Hires, trains, and conducts performance appraisals of staff under direct supervision according to agency guidelines and established personnel policies.
  • Supervises, coordinates, and monitors the activities of program staff, ensuring that all department requirements are met in accordance with appropriate program guidelines, agency policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains the digital fingerprint machine through proper care and reporting of any technical issues.
  • Serves as interpreter when needed and language skills are applicable.
  • Serves as liaison with other community agencies, health providers, and professional partners.
  • Completes any required reports or data collection activities as prescribed by funders, partners, or agency leadership in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains accurate client/program records regarding services provided according to Agency guidelines, using the database(s) provided by the agency and within Agency time frame.
  • Actively participates in supervision sessions, periodic team meetings, and training.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Safe Release Specialists
  • HS/PRS Case Managers

Education and/or Experience

  • Master's degree in social work or a related field with a year of similar work experience OR a Bachelor's Degree with 5 or more years of similar work experience.
  • Prior experience in a supervisory position.
  • Experience providing comprehensive case management services.
  • Experience working with refugees, immigrants, or displaced peoples.
  • Non-profit experience preferred.

  • Must read, write, and speak English and Spanish fluently.
  • Ability to facilitate intercultural communication to create an inclusive environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment, courtesy, and tact in dealing with the public and staff.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with extreme professionalism.
  • Ability to plan and organize work, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work well as a team and independently with minimal direction.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn databases, such as Salesforce and Apricot, and other systems.
  • Current driver’s license required. Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle and provide own transportation.
