The business is focused on designing and constructing ground-mounted Solar Photovoltaic (PV) facilities that connect to the distribution grid (<20MWac). The Director of Supply Chain is responsible for establishing, strengthening, and maintaining STS relationships with major material suppliers and service providers to deliver optionality and cost competitive options to project teams. The Director of Supply Chain will be the subject matter expert on all Sun Tribe supply chain processes and procedures, forward cost curves for major materials and will maintain a database for lead time, availability, and pricing. This position will be the primary point of contact between STS and its suppliers and service providers.

The Director of Supply Chain reports directly to the Vice President of Pre-Construction.
 Principal ResponsibilitiesGENERAL
  • Author and subject mater expert for all required Supply Chain processes and best practices
  • Author and primary keeper of the Sun Tribe EPC Approved Vendor and Supplier List (AVL)
  • Coordinates with HSE, Finance, Pre-Construction and Project Management team to ensure AVL is current, complete and relevant
  • Ensures all PO’s, Subcontracts, and other agreements include flow down provisions from the Prime EPC agreement
  • Ensures all PO’s and Subcontracts are compliant with approved ST-EPC Supply Chain procedures
  • Establish and keep current all ST-EPC standard templates for PO’s and Service contracts and their standard attachments
  • Coordinates with Pre-Construction and Project Management to ensure each project has a documented supply chain plan
  • Conducts regular meetings to update key stakeholders on the status of individual projects, and/or overall supply chain information 
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key vendors and service providers to ensure cost efficiency, responsiveness and issue resolution
  • Develops and maintains supplier and subcontractor feedback mechanism

VENDORS
  • Negotiates Master Supply and/or Special Agreements for major materials including key favorable terms & conditions, working with outside legal when required
  • Lead role issuing all PO’s during procurement phase of project
  • Maintains and improves the existing Airtable database of pricing, forward looking cost curves and lead times for all equipment on the AVL including:
    • Modules
    • Fixed Tilt Racking
    • Single Axis Tracker Racking
    • Inverters
    • Transformers
    • Medium Voltage Equipment
  • Ensures appropriate lien releases are included with all POs.

SERVICE SUPPLIERS
  • Negotiates Master Supply Agreements with service suppliers, working without outside legal when required
  • Leads functional role during the bidding, selection and award phase of all service suppliers including: engineering, testing, and construction installation subcontractors
  • Establishes, coordinates and manages list of qualified bidders for each scope of work that is to be bid
  • Ensures all supplier agreements include any relevant flow down provisions from the prime EPC agreement
  • Works with Pre-Construction and Project Management to ensure bid package includes key project information including Scope of work, schedule and design documentation
  • Supports the Pre-Construction Managers and Project Managers during bidding and negotiating phase.
  • Performs bid analysis, post bid Q&A, and all bid due diligence during bidding phase.
  • Coordinates all vendor/supplier Q&A with relevant internal resources during bidding phase
  • Provides PM, Pre-Con, and leadership with bid spread document with levelized bids and recommended service provider for review and approval
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree required: Bachelor's Degree is required
  • A minimum six years’ experience in supply chain management, construction project management, procurement, project finance or related field is required
  • Experience in the solar PV industry is required
  • Deep understanding of solar PV supplier landscape and supply chains
  • Demonstrates Company Core values
  • Advanced experience negotiating supply contracts required
  • Experience with project management software such as MS Project (or equivalent CPM scheduling software), MS Excel, and construction management platforms (e.g. Procore, PlanGrid)

  • This position is eligible for a hybrid position in Charlottesville, VA or remote work location.
