General Manager at Narrow Gauge Inn

Narrow Gauge Inn in Fish Camp, CA is looking for one general manager to join our 43 person strong team. We are located on 48571 Highway 41. Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, ambitious, proactive, flexible, and reliable.

Responsibilities

Strong Leadership skills in hospitality industry and experience in overseeing boutique hotel and restaurant.

Experience in managing staff of over 10 or more employees.

Create and Monitor weekly housekeeping schedule based on the lodge occupancy.

Work closely with Housekeeping and ensure productivity and quality standards are maintained.

Daily inspection of cleaned rooms to check on quality and cleanliness.

Maintain cleanliness of all the areas including storerooms.

Coordinate with houskeeping and maintenance to ensure all the preventive maintenance, repairs are addressed in a timely manner. Provide the owners proper visibility on the projects.

Order hotel supplies and restaurant supplies on a weekly or monthly basis.

Ensure Gift shop is fully stocked, organized and merchandised appropriately.

Work with revenue managers closely to monitor room rates, promotions based on season, supply and demand and budget goals.

Review Guest scores on various social media platforms and OTA channels and exceed expectations on booking.com, Expedia and tripadvisor.

Focus on creating memorable guest and associate experiences

Be available during peak arrival, departure and breakfast hours to assist front desk team and interact with guests on a daily basis

Review daily arrival lists for special request, Provide welcome amenities and insure all special requests are followed up by front desk team

Interact professionally with guests, clients and associates in all email, telephone and face to face interactions.

Respond to guest email, walk in or phone inquiries, comments and concerns within 24 hours to all guest email.

Respond to group bookings and event requests and closely work with events coordinator on the booked opportunities.

Recruit, hire, on board, and train all new team members with a focus on culture fit

Monitor labor and scheduling in adherence to budget guidelines

Ensure all guest incidents are properly documented and communicate with management in a timely manner.

Ensure all worker comp incidents are properly documented and communicated with management in a timely manner.

Develop a strong team.

Manage staff and delegate responsibility as needed.

Maintain excellent customer service standards.

Manage profit and loss figures.

Assist management on any assigned special projects.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with customers and co-workers
• Positive attitude and ethics which support our values and culture
• Passion to work in botique hotel and restaurant setting
• 3 + years of experience as General Manager in hospitality setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft office tools and willingness to learn and train new software.
• Ability to manage a fast-paced, high-volume, clean, customer-focused workplace
• Strong time-management skills; ability to multi-task, prioritize, and organize
