Advanced Maintenance Electrician

Mullican Flooring, a leading hardwood flooring manufacturer, is currently seeking an Advanced Maintenance Electrician for their production facility in Norton, VA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES FOR ADVANCED MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN

• Installs power supply wiring and conduit and connects to machines and equipment such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine such as relays, switches, motors and position sensing devices.
• Pushes buttons and presses keys on robot controller, teach pendant and programmable controller to program, test and operate automated machinery.
• Plans layout and installs wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in facility.
• Diagnoses and replaces faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Maintains accurate documentation pertaining to work orders and projects.
• Works safely.
• Maintains clean and orderly workspace.
• Adheres to company policies and procedures.
• Must be available to work any shift and overtime as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE FOR ADVANCED MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN :

• High school diploma
• Formal technical training in electrical or electronics discipline preferred
• Five years of related work experience or equivalent/combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS FOR ADVANCED MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN:

• Add, subtract, multiply and divide in appropriate units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Compute rate, ratio, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume
• Draw and interpret bar graphs

REASONING ABILITY FOR ADVANCED MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN:

• Understand and follow instructions
• Maintain effective working relationship with other employees
• Operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently
• Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

COMPUTER SKILLS FOR ADVANCED MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN:

• Siemens Step 7 PLCs, Motor Control Center, Inverters and Robotics
• Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
• Internet applications

OTHER SKILLS FOR ADVANCED MAINTENANCE ELECTRICIAN:

• Read, interpret and draw blue prints and schematics
• Use caliper, inside and outside micrometer
• Valid drivers license and good driving record

Advanced Maintenance Electrician Pay and Benefits:

• Full Time Hours 6pm - 6:30am - Sunday - Wednesday
• Hourly rate of pay = $18.80
• Shift premium = $1.00/hr.
