Job Description:

  • Work effectively with the Program Leader, physician, clinical and support staff to assure they have adequate information to provide appropriate care.
  • Train all nurses and nurse assistants.
  • Perform related testing for new and continuing clients on an as needed basis.
  • Assist nursing staff in providing and ensuring proper client care is rendered. 6. Handle scheduling of the medical team.
  • Assure that all services provided are properly documented in an accurate and timely manner in accordance with the policies and procedures of Sacred Heart, the standards of CARF and all applicable payer/care manager rules and regulations.
  • Monitor and order medical supplies, as needed.

Education/Skills:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with current licensure in the State of Michigan.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of people with substance abuse and mental health problems desirable.
  • An ability to develop a therapeutic relationship.
  • CPR and AED certification.
  • Must have the ability to work different shifts, holidays, and weekends.
  • Physically capable of performing duties including lifting, pushing clients, carts, and wheelchairs.
  • Must be able to operate basic computer software.
  • Prolonged periods of standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift more than 25 pounds at times.
  • Ability to quickly respond to emergencies.
