Salary:
- BASIC FUNCTION
- Employees in this position are responsible for the safe control of traffic through our work zones.
- JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Valid drivers license. Note: Driving record must be satisfactory to insurance company prior to being permitted to operate a company vehicle.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and willingness to submit to random drug & alcohol testing.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, occasionally longer than 10 hours.
- Physical ability to lift 30 pounds.
- Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Ability to remain alert to hazards and react appropriately if needed.
- Ability to be prompt and dependable.
- SKILLS AND TRAINING REQUIRED
- Successful completion of basic safety and flagger training. (PennDOT training provided by Allegheny Contracting certified safety manager)
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists with setting up and tearing down highway work zones and controlling traffic during the course of the day.
- Responsible to maintain a safe work zone and to represent the company in a professional and courteous manner to the general public and our customers.
- Responsible to assist emergency vehicles through the work zone as needed.
- Responsible to properly care for the equipment assigned to them.
- Responsible to properly perform any other tasks that may be required.
