About the Role:

  • Responsible for quality control in all phases of production utilizing established procedures, quality control manuals, and equipment
  • Read and understand shop fabrication drawings and specs and verify dimensions of product or material
  • Perform internal audits and maintain quality control inspection records
  • Act as liaison to outside inspectors
  • Resolve quality issues due to production and fabrication errors
  • Inspect finished good loads prior to plant departure
  • Coach and train the team in quality requirements
  • Work with existing QC person at the plant to ensure that all concrete testing on required mix designs (Air, Slump Temp, Unit Weight, Cylinders, etc…) and ensure they are properly documented and reported.
  • Ensure proper mix designs are programmed and used for each product type.
  • Stamp finished product with QC stamp and item codes (stickers)
  • Perform pre-pour and post-pour inspections as outlined by the Rinker.
  • Perform post pour inspections on all Rinker Material products at the plant as outlined by the design drawing.
  • Perform inspections of loads leaving plant to meet accuracy and quality criteria and paperwork (BOL) matches up with delivery.
  • Be able to mainly work outdoors.
  • Work closely with existing Rinker QC people and production crew leaders to ensure our customer’s products meet related specifications.
  • Perform inventory checks regularly to ensure proper products are at the plant for our contractors.
  • Performs special projects or assignments as directed.
  • Sample Concrete and break Cylinder to verify Compressive Strength.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2 years manufacturing experience. Prior QC experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) specifications.
  • Ability to interpret readings from Micrometers, Calipers, and other QC tools.
  • Excellent communication and organization skills.
  • One plus years’ experience preferred but not required.
