Position Overview:

The Food & Beverage Steward oversees staff responsible for the cleanliness of the property’s kitchens or other food preparation areas. Ensures efficient and timely washing of dishes, putting away inventory for main kitchen and main warehouse, assisting in general deliveries of kitchen & main warehouse. Assists in general cleaning (periodic deep cleaning) of culinary/F&B equipment, coolers, pantry and warehouse. Position is responsible for inventory control and kitchen equipment management. Organizes kitchen storage, maximizing space, and may be involved in event set up/breakdown. From beginning to end, the Porter will be responsible for supporting the team’s ability to deliver an incredible guest experience.

Oversees washing of all utensils, dishes, kitchen equipment
Ensures cleanliness of kitchens & food prep areas
Receives product, ensures proper placement, and storage
Organizes and maintains all storage areas and warehouse
Maintains/checks inventory of glass & china; ensures dishware/glassware pars are appropriate
Ensures cleanliness of work area through deep cleaning, as well as regular maintenance
Hires, manages, separates dishwashing/stewarding employees
Sets up and maintains kitchen cleaning schedule for all locations
Communicates closely with management regarding all repairs, kitchen inventory needs
Assists with washing of dishes and/or other kitchen/BOH duties
Assists/oversees event set-up/breakdown utilizing both FOH/BOH teams
Other duties may be assigned

Job Requirements:

Comfort with highly transactional/repetitive processes
Ability to manage time well, meet imposed deadlines and ability to work flexible hours
The position requires the ability to lift over 50 pounds occasionally.
This position requires the ability to stand, walk (6-7 hours at a time), and climb stairs, reach & bend.
Ability to manage/motivate different teams
Understanding of food safety/hygiene requirements

Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED or one (1) year equivalent experience
Three (3) – Five (5) years’ experience in Kitchen/Culinary Management
This position requires the ability to stand, and, walk, 5-6 hours at a time, climb stairs, reach, and bend.
The position may also require the ability to lift over forty (40) pounds occasionally.
Valid drivers’ license for use of company vehicles may be required for certain roles
