SUMMARY

As the Senior Staff Accountant you possess a high level of organizational and time management skills, and are self-motivated and detail-oriented. The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for ensuring internal controls are monitored and documentation is updated as needed. This position assists the CFO/COO with the month-end close, external/internal audits, reconciliations, reporting and will also carry ownership of all transactional inputs(Billing, A/R and A/P). ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintains accounting systems and manages overall AP process
    • Entering vendor invoices
    • Ensure proper coding of vendor invoices
    • Receiving/matching PO's to vendor invoices
    • Preparing checks for signature by matching up to invoices
  • Reconcile credit card statements each month
  • Daily deposit preparation
    • Receive mail and verify total
    • Mobile deposit after checks are entered
    • Apply all ACH payments
  • Collections
    • Strong communication skills required for e-mail, mail & phone calls
    • Proactively follow up on past due accounts
    • Resolve all customer questions and disputes in a timely manner, following up as necessary with Skykit team members in Sales/Customer Success/Support to effect a resolution.
  • Maintain vendor and customer files
    • Setup of new customers and vendors in Intacct
      • Follow up with cust/vend for w-9s
  • Responsible for ensuring the integrity of source data from our ERP and reporting systems, including the implementation of new systems
  • Responsible for timely, accurate monthly accounting close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with explanations of actuals vs. plan
  • Prepares balance sheet account reconciliations (various accounts), records journal entries, monthly accruals, conducts data validation checks, system tie outs, cash forecasting, etc
  • Prepares audit work papers/schedules and fulfills audit requests and reporting
  • Leads and participates in process improvement and documentation projects
  • Ad hoc reporting and analysis
  • Assists with month-end, audits, taxes, reporting, compliance and other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with 2 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience required.
  • Experience in general ledger production, month-end closing processes, audits, financial statement preparation.
  • Technical accounting skills and background. Solid foundational knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Must exhibit a high degree of integrity and maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times
