The UPS Store is seeking a friendly and motivated individual to join our team as a Customer Service Associate. The Center Associate delivers world-class customer service to all retail customers by receiving and processing packages for courier shipment and operating copiers, fax machines, binding equipment, laminating machines, and point-of-sale devices. The Associate expertly advises our valued customers by providing accurate information on our array of products, services, and best-value options and exhibits confidence by knowing best practices related to the industry.
The ideal candidate has previous retail sales experience, strong computer and internet skills, a friendly and genuinely helpful demeanor, and a professional appearance. They must be a fast learner who makes an effort to learn all aspects of the business in the shortest possible time.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greeting and welcoming customers with a positive attitude
- Package, label, and process shipments using UPS and other carrier systems, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to shipping guidelines.
- Provide printing services, including photocopying, binding, laminating, and creating custom prints, while ensuring high-quality output.
- Operating cash registers and managing transactions
- Maintaining a clean and organized store environment
- Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth store operations
- Answering phone calls and responding to emails
- Providing customers with product and service information
- Delivers outstanding customer service to walk-in customers and telephone inquiries
- Takes action to learn all product and service offerings, alternative solutions, and industry trends
- Operates all equipment, software, and devices in an expert fashion and is willing to teach others
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including shelves, displays, and product offerings.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and maintaining the overall cleanliness of the store.
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong computer skills,
- Including Microsoft Office and Adobe Suites
- Outstanding phone skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and math
- Prompt, reliable, and responsible
- Able to lift 50+ pounds
- Prior experience in customer service or retail preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Must have good hygiene and be committed to maintaining a clean and safe work environment for all team members and customers.
- Knowledge of UPS shipping methods and software is a plus
- Must be able to clear a background check as a condition of employment.
- Active notary license and Live scan rolling certificate is required (candidates without a live scan certificate or notary license may be eligible for full reimbursement)
