The Operations Manager will work closely with JDS leadership, cross-functional leadership throughout JAX, as well as Roux Institute staff members. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the onsite operations of JAX Portland fully supports the mission of JAX Data Science. In addition, this role will offer to support to JDS scientific, technological, education and community programs onsite and virtually through support of relationships and events. Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions Establish new operational functions, and manage priorities, timelines and communications, to start up, grow and maintain the JAX Portland site for JAX Data Science. Work closely with JAX functional teams and with The Roux Institute counterparts to develop capabilities, resources, and procedures. Acts as primary contact for day-to-day Roux Institute operations. Identify new approaches, troubleshoot, and perform continuous improvement as needed to meet needs that are unique to the facility and to the co-location with the Roux Institute. Engage with developments for new Roux campus as assigned. Perform special JAX Data Science operations projects as determined by JAX Data Science Leadership. Oversee and ensure high-quality and responsive administrative support for JAX Data Science leadership. Oversee and, as needed, provide administrative support of the CDSO and other senior JDS executives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. 5 -7 years experience in Project Management and/or administrative experience Demonstrated experience in leading a variety of various projects and programs, with advanced project management techniques and tools, estimating project timelines and resources. Demonstrated skill to work collaboratively, act persuasively, and maintain confidentiality in sensitive situations; including conflict management techniques. Strong organizational, strategic and operational skills. Demonstrated experience working independently and collaboratively to solve problems, exercise sound judgment, and organize varied responsibilities; Ability to adapt, learn quickly and work independently on multiple competing priorities. Strong time management and organizational skills; Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, requiring exceptional time management skills to meet short deadlines Experience managing budgets, schedules, project scope, project quality and risks. The salary range is $73,305 - $122,730.
