POSITION SUMMARY:
The Director, Accounting is responsible for providing strategic oversight to the accounting activities for the Health Support Center (HSC), including but not limited to the following departments: Accounts Payable, Facility Intercompany, Insurance and Insurance Captive, Legal, Benefits, and Cash.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation.  

  • Oversee, organize, direct, mentor and develop a team by reviewing and approving work product, providing strategic and daily guidance to achieve objectives, and developing individuals to position for growth.
  • Manage all assigned accounting activities, field related questions, including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance/reporting.
  • Oversee the general ledger including monthly/quarterly close, budget processes, and monthly reporting for management.
  • Support integration of new facilities and TSA activities related to divested facilities.
  • Manage across various accounting systems and platforms including but not limited to HOST, SAP, Oracle etc.
  • Lead department initiatives as directed by the VP and AVP, HSC Accounting.
  • Maintain policy compliance and ensure accountability with current U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and uniformly understand, interpret, and administer for the HSC, hospitals, and newly acquired hospitals.
  • Develop and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other department leaders and local hospitals teams.
  • Support audit requests related to areas of responsibility.
  • Complete goals and special project within given deadline.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, Master’s preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 7 years, preferably in large, complex accounting environment.
Certifications: CPA
Licenses: Maintain Active CPA License.
