Job Description: Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking CNC Lathe Set-Up Machinists for a direct hire, swing shift opportunity with a manufacturer located in Beaverton, OR. The person in this position will perform complex set-ups, adjustments, and operation for all departmental equipment. Pay: $27-$33/hr +$3/hr shift differential CNC Lathe Machinist Responsibilities: • Performs set ups, adjustments, and troubleshooting on various machine tools and ensures parts are made to print. • Operates departmental equipment when machines are not available for set up. • Assists Lead Person in trouble-shooting problems with programs, tooling, fixtures, and out-of-print parts. • Checks critical dimensions of parts using CMM, QC gauges, and other measuring instruments. • Performs First Article Inspections using applied understanding of Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing (GD&T). • Trains operators and oversees operator’s work as assigned, including equipment set up and adjustments. • Assists manufacturing support teams with problem solving activities. • Enters part quantities and work order information in software system using PC and moves parts to next operation. • Maintains a clean and orderly work area, safe work environment, and notifies safety representative, Lead, or Supervisor of unsafe conditions. • Performs other duties as assigned. CNC Lathe Machinist Qualifications: • 6+ years of experience with machining and manufacturing or formal apprenticeship and 2 years of machining and manufacturing experience required. • An equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience may be considered. • Able to read, understand and follow work instructions. • Effective verbal and written communication skills in English. • Intermediate Blueprint Reading and strong shop math skills required. • Knowledge of Win SPC, Documentum, and Jira. • Must be able to interpret and apply GD&T. • CNC programming knowledge. • Proficiency in with Windows Office and use of Personal Computer required. • Must be available to work SUN-WED or WED-SAT, 3:30PM to 2AM.
