As a Clinical Nurse IV, you will assume responsibility and accountability for the application of the nursing process and the delivery of patient care in a procedure setting. You can look forward to using all of your clinical knowledge regarding standards of care, as well as supervising the clinical performance of others when acting as charge nurse and mentor. Summary of Duties:
  • Serves as a resource for all nursing activities in the department
  • Oversees and authorizes incidental overtime
  • Provides assistance to co-workers, new staff, temporary staff and students
  • Delegates and assigns tasks to licensed and unlicensed health care workers within the scope of their job responsibilities
  • Coaches and supports nursing staff in the application of advanced clinical skills and critical thinking to support patient care activities
  • Evaluates, facilitates and promotes patient flow, coordinates discharge planning and team rounding as applicable
  • Assumes responsibility for mentoring, coaching and staff development, acts as change champion
  • Contributes to performance evaluations
  • Champions department improvement activities
  • Evaluates and works to improve the process of patient care delivery within the unit and service centers
  • Provides experienced comprehensive direct and indirect care to the specific populations needs, including cultural, spiritual, age, psychosocial, communication, gender, sexual orientation, economic, education, family and condition needs

Qualifications
Qualifications:

Education:

  • BSN (Bachelor of Science, Nursing) required
License/Certifications:
  • Current, unrestricted California RN license required
  • Specialty Certification or willing to obtain within a year
  • BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
Experience:
  • A minimum of 5 years of direct experience in this specialty nursing experience required
  • Charge Nurse experience preferred
  • Must be a Clinical Nurse III for at least 1 year to be promoted within the clinical ladder
