Hotel Equities, a multi-award-winning hotel development and hospitality management company, is currently searching for a remarkable Laundry Attendant for the Holiday Inn Express NE - Fort Jackson in Columbia, SC.
Job Purpose:
The laundry attendant's responsibilities include cleaning, treating, and folding linens and towels. You should also be able to keep a record of which items are damaged for management review.
To be successful as a laundry attendant, you should demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Top-notch candidates will excel in time management.
Laundry Attendant Responsibilities:
- Sorting, washing, drying, and folding linens/towels.
- Removing stains from items using the appropriate procedures.
- Keeping an updated inventory of laundry detergents and linens.
- Tracking maintenance and repairs on laundering equipment.
- Ensuring that the facility remains clean at all times.
- Anticipating and responding to team members linen needs.
- Stocking shelves in housekeeping closets on floors for housekeeping use throughout shift.
- Pulling, washing and restocking pool towels.
- Completing all laundry each day and prepped for next day.
- Inventory of all linens at end of the month.
Laundry Attendant Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
- Prior experience in a similar role is required.**
- Familiarity with cleaning detergents and laundering equipment.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Capacity to lift up to 20 pounds unaided.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Available to work including weekends and holidays.
Other:
- Being passionate about people and service.
- Strong communication skills are essential when interacting with guests and employees.
- Reading abilities are used often when completing paperwork, logging issues/complaints/requests/ information updates, etc.
- Problem-solving, reasoning, motivating, and training abilities are often used.
- Have the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and/or holidays
