Salary:

Instructor of Spanish- Lyon College invites applications for a full-time, instructor position in Spanish beginning in August 2024. The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Spanish by the time of appointment with experience in teaching lower-level Spanish courses, and an understanding of the unique nature of teaching at a small liberal arts college. The course load includes seven courses per year teaching the introductory Spanish sequence every semester. The successful candidate is expected to participate in recruitment of majors and minors, departmental assessment and curriculum development. Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.


Lyon College is a private, selective liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). It is located in  Batesville, Arkansas, a safe and historic town of 11,000 that serves as commercial, medical, social, and governmental  hub for an eight-county area and named by USA Today as the best city to live in in Arkansas. The College currently enrolls almost 600 undergraduate students from 29 states and 14 foreign countries. Entering freshmen have an  average high school GPA of 3.7.
