Position Summary

The primary responsibility of our Installation Technicians is to perform equipment installation services for material storage, transfer and blending systems. This position also supports our customers during system installation, startup-up, and routine equipment maintenance. They will be part of a team that travels regularly to customer sites throughout the US with some rare international travel possible.   


*Please note: This job requires extensive travel. Must be willing to travel 60% or greater for work.


Essential Job Functions

  • Installs machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings in an industrial environment, using a variety of equipment including hoists, lift trucks, forklifts, hand tools, and power tools
  • Dismantles, moves, and removes machinery and equipment as required
  • Troubleshooting and resolving onsite issues
  • Complete assembly stages of installation as required
  • Perform production duties from time to time when not in the field doing installation work
  • Work with installation crew lead to ensure jobs meet schedule
  • Provide effective and timely onsite support for customers
  • Knowledge and adherence to HorizonPSI and customers onsite safety policies and procedures
  • Communicate well internally and externally about the status of all jobs
  • Keep tool and hardware storage area organized
  • Collaborate with your team and supervisor to ensure the highest quality work for every customer job site
  • Required to adhere to all equipment safety procedures and standards at all times
  • Other duties as assigned


Equipment Operated

  • Work with a variety of tools (hand, power) and equipment
  • Ability to accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring devices
  • Occasionally use equipment associated with sheet metal fabrication including, but not limited to:
    • Milling machines and lathes
    • Air and/or electric grinders
    • Horizontal and vertical saws
    • Brake press
    • Drill press
    • Belt sander
    • Air compressors
  • Operation of forklifts, aerial man lifts, and overhead cranes
  • Frequent operation of company work trucks
  • Respirator Equipment Requirement


Competencies

Education, Certifications and Experience

Required

  • High School Diploma or GED


Skills and Abilities

Required

  • Ability to read and understand drawings and schematics
  • Ability to troubleshoot
  • Mechanical skills, aptitude and experience
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness and accuracy
  • High attention to detail
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-directed and flexible as on-site situations require
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime extensively – including evenings and weekends

Preferred

  • Minimum 2-5 years’ experience in installation/ field service
  • Basic understanding of manufacturing environment
  • Welding experience
  • Pipe Fitting experience
  • OSHA 10 Safety training


Conditions of Employment

Candidate must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record if driving is necessary to the position. Candidate must authorize HorizonPSI to perform an MVR (motor vehicle report) before hire, at the expense of HorizonPSI. Unsatisfactory report findings will immediately disqualify the candidate from employment consideration.
