Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled Countertop Fabricator to join our team at Midwest Marble & Granite. The ideal candidate will have experience working with various countertop materials, including granite, marble, quartz, and other natural or engineered stone surfaces. As a Countertop Fabricator, you will be responsible for transforming raw materials into finished countertops according to precise specifications and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and follow detailed paperwork, drawings, and Speed Label to fabricate countertops to exact measurements and specifications.
- Operate and maintain fabrication machinery and equipment, such as saws, routers, polishers, and CNC machines.
- Shape, fill and polish countertop materials using appropriate tools and techniques to achieve desired finishes.
- Perform edge profiling, polishing and other fabrication tasks with precision and accuracy.
- Inspect finished countertops to ensure they meet quality standards for aesthetics, dimensions, and functionality.
- Safely handle and transport heavy countertop slabs and materials within the fabrication facility.
- Collaborate with team members, sales, installers, and project managers, to ensure seamless workflow and timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols and best practices.
Desired Experience and Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Countertop Fabricator or similar role in the stone fabrication industry.
- Proficiency in cutting, grinding, and polishing stone countertops.
- Strong understanding of countertop materials and their unique characteristics, such as granite, marble, quartz, etc.
- Ability to read and interpret measurements, drawings, and job orders accurately.
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship with the ability to produce high-quality work.
- Physical strength and stamina to lift and maneuver heavy countertop slabs and materials.
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures in a fabrication environment.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
