Job Description

General Description: This position will perform care for both large and small animals under the supervision of the Veterinarian as well as office clerical duties. This person should enjoy working with large and small animals and possess great customer interaction skills as most of the workday will be spent around producers and customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Administering vaccinations, inserting ear tags, etc. under Veterinarian supervision
  • Comfortable working with small and large animals
  • Assisting with animal restraint and handling during appointments, surgeries, and other procedures
  • Moving cattle into and out of alleys, pens, and chutes
  • Assisting with laboratory testing
  • Client communications including phone calls, discharge, history, record keeping, appointments, and education
  • Working with team members to maintain a healthy clinic and work atmosphere
  • Assisting with inventory maintenance
  • Rotating Saturday shifts required
  • Assist in the store with customer care and needs
  • Other duties as assigned and as experience is gained

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the animal health industry preferred, but not required.
  • Must have basic office and customer service skills
  • Willing to follow direction and be part of a team
  • May be required to pass pre-employment physical as position requires bending, stooping, standing for hours, pulling, and lifting up to 50lbs. List not all inclusive.

Responsibilities:

  • Communicate with store managers and purchasing to ensure accurate levels of inventory are on hand.
  • Assist Field Marketers and Inside Sales team to analyze customer demand to properly plan inventory and customer needs.
  • Ensure all warehouse orders are pulled by the warehouse team only, to minimize lost or doubled orders.
  • Keep consistent communication with Inside Sales team on incoming orders.
  • Evaluate inventory regularly to remove excessive or restock missing items.
  • Review timeliness of scheduled deliveries and analyze shipments to include routing of deliveries and accurate shipments.
  • Maintain and oversee fleet needs and protocols for base location.
  • Ensure all sales are electronically entered daily.
  • Communicate with store managers about any expense budget variances and develop plans to remain within budget when necessary.
  • Implement and oversee plans made to control expenses.
  • Communicate with company HR to ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Disseminate any HR related information on site to reporting employees when necessary.
  • Oversee onsite payroll functions, timecard tracking, PTO usage.
  • Supervise and manage warehouse associates and delivery drivers.
  • Maintain and manage facility needs.
