Salary:

Role Purpose

To effectively and efficiently apply chemicals and fertilizer to customer’s fields utilizing application equipment. Other duties primarily associated with:  sprayer tending, planting, harvesting, chemical delivery, warehousing, bulk fertilizer delivery, application and farm equipment maintenance, etc. Perform all other duties assigned by the supervisor and implement the company’s direction while promoting professionalism and teamwork and to support the Norder Spot-On service philosophy.

 

Accountabilities

Custom Application

  • Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizer accurately
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment as directed by the supervisor
  • Operate all equipment in a safe and responsible manner
  • Complete spray records and required logs accurately and timely
  • Follow company policies and procedures
  • Learn how to read pesticide labels and use appropriate personal protective equipment

Shared Accountabilities

  • Maintain all aspects of equipment and facilities so that they are in excellent working condition for their respective seasons.  Such equipment may include but is not limited to:  nurse trailers, anhydrous trailers, dry fertilizer equipment, bulk chemical and fertilizer facilities, tending and application equipment, warehouse, office, grounds, vehicles and all other equipment

DOT Requirements

  • Maintain all log books, time sheets, CDL license, medical cards and other paperwork DOT requires
  • Maintain vehicle and delivery equipment to DOT standards

Notify supervisor of any repairs needed to maintain equipment

 

Critical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of application equipment and precision placement equipment
  • Knowledge of chemical application procedures
  • Knowledge of Worker Protection Standards
  • General maintenance knowledge

 

Critical Skills

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a valid class A CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements
  • Ability to adapt to different work environments
  • Ability to demonstrate a team player attitude
  • Ability to work long hours during peak periods
  • Demonstrate basic math skills
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds

 

Critical Experience

  • High school diploma; experience in equipment operation, basic knowledge of operations involved in production agriculture
