Position overview

The Corporate Cash Accountant supports the Controllers and Tax and Compliance Accountant in carrying out the responsibilities of the Finance and Accounting Department.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining balances in an automated consolidation system by inputting data; scheduling jobs; verifying data
  • Analyzes information and options by developing spreadsheet reports; verifying information
  • Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files; reconciling accounts
  • Reconciliation of all bank statements for all legal entities
  • Prepare journal entries for monthly bank fees
  • Prepare journal entries for banking investment accounts
  • Works with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable to ensure timely and accurate cash reporting of all cash transactions
  • Performs daily banking functions including transmittal of e-check, ACH batches and virtual credit cards to bank
  • Performs verification of ACH and wire banking as required
  • Retrieves banking information and communicates with bank on a regular basis
  • Reconciles all credit card accounts and ensures proper approval and coding of all expenditures
  • Supports all credit card holders in providing assistance related to credit card usage
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining credit cards within credit card portal
  • Manage petty cash account
  • Answer accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data
  • Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must have an acumen for attention to detail
  • Must be skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Must be highly skilled in use of Excel Spreadsheets
  • Display a high level of organization and prioritization for tasks at hand
  • Demonstrates flexibility to effectively deal with changing priorities and timelines through analytical problem solving
  • Proven time management and follow-through skills with the ability to work on multiple tasks with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team-oriented environment
  • Responsible to enhance and design reports that meet analysis for operations
  • Display superior written and oral communication skills and effective listening skills
  • Maintain a tactful, mature, and professional demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse personnel

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or a related field or equivalent experience
  • High Volume environment
  • Experience with banking transmission and auto bank reconciliation
  • Experience Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams

Work Environment

  • Works normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday most of the time.
  • Extends working hours into evenings and weekends during seasonal busy times.
  • Spends time in a climate controlled office setting looking a computer screens and keyboarding.
  • Attends budget meetings and other financial meetings on a regular basis.

Continuing Education Requirements

The continuing education expectation for this position is 40 hours per year.
