We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Health Information Management Supervisor/Certified Coder to join our dynamic team. This role is instrumental in maintaining the highest standards of care while optimizing financial performance under the Prospective Payment System guidelines.
Your Role:
- Ensure adherence to safety and infection control policies and procedures.
- Participate in Quality Assurance/Performance Improvement processes and committees.
- Uphold confidentiality and security of medical information per HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide oversight, guidance, and workflow management within the HIM department.
- Develop educational materials and conduct instructional programs for healthcare personnel.
- Code medical records according to professional standards and guidelines.
- Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinate assessments to ensure compliance with Medicare and other payer requirements.
- Analyze patient data to identify trends and opportunities for optimizing reimbursement.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and billing departments to ensure accurate billing.
What You'll Need:
- Clinician licensed in the state of Texas, preferably an LVN, highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Certification in ICD-10 Coding required.
- Proven experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a PPS-related role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Comprehensive understanding of PPS regulations and payer systems.
- Excellent analytical and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an interdisciplinary team.
