Job Description
The Training Manager will identify, develop, and monitor operational training needs at the Butler, IN campus by enhancing employee skills, improving performance, increasing productivity and retention, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. You will develop best practices within the steel service center industry and coordinate training for all production-related positions to the work standards. Buy overseeing the training initiatives, you will play a vital role in driving employee growth and ensuring the achievement of being “Best in Class.”
· Vetting trainers and monitors their performance.
· Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
· Reviews and develops training programs to search for gaps in training content and materials that need updating to generate higher productivity and safety among team members; makes enhancements and modifications to improve engagement, learning, and retention and/or to meet the changing needs of the workforce or the industry.
· Resolves any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary.
· Maintains a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices and training requirements applicable to the company and/or industry.
· Identifies problems and opportunities such as operational changes or industry developments that training could improve.
· Conducts or facilitates required and recommended training sessions.
· Collaborates with vendors and third-party training providers to arrange employee registration for and participation in outside training programs.
· Ensures that training milestones and goals are met while adhering to approved training budget.
· Prepares and implements training budget.
· Must keep diligent records for compliance purposes.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements:· Excellent leadership and motivational skills.
· Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively.
· Thorough understanding of training processes.
· Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
· Extremely organized and detail-oriented.
· Good collaboration and teamwork skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
· 3-5 years’ experience as a supervisor within a manufacturing environment.
· Bachelor's degree in supervision, education, or relevant field preferred.
