Founded in 2002, Blue Water invests, develops, and manages RV resorts, campgrounds, hotels, and attractions. Its integrated approach to marketing, revenue management, and operations has quickly established it as a hospitality industry leader.

INTRODUCTION TO ROLE

The First Mate at OBX is the second in command and is responsible for the boat's navigation and safety if the captain cannot perform their duties. The vessel's capacity holds 26 (captain, mate, and twenty-four guests). Blue Water Hospitality manages OBX. ** This is a Seasonal position (Spring / Summer) **

The First Mate is responsible for vessel maintenance, which involves keeping the boat in good condition by performing various tasks.

• Sailing duties
• Cleanliness: Performing general housekeeping duties assigned by the captain.
• Engine room: Maintaining and repairing the systems during downtime and voyages.
• Conducting safety drills
• Fueling
• Supervise safety inspections.
• Take command if the captain becomes incapacitated.
• Educate passengers on safety, helping them board and exit the vessel.
• Provide a fun and safe experience for passengers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The hospitality environment is fast-paced, and at times, you may be required to cover or assist with tasks/job functions outside of the job you were hired for. We need each of our team members to have an All-Hands-On-Deck mindset. This means you may be tasked with other functions and are expected to complete those tasks with the same enthusiasm and dedication as scheduled with your regular job duties.
