This position requires a hands-on approach to the billing process, providing you with the opportunity to lead by example. You'll lead a team of billing specialists, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure exceptional performance. If you're a natural leader with a strong background in medical billing, including direct billing experience, and a commitment to excellence, we want you to be a part of our mission to serve patients with excellence.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Directly bill medical claims for durable medical equipment, ensuring meticulous accuracy and adherence to insurance requirements and regulations.

- Oversee the entire billing process for durable medical equipment, from intake through to billing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with insurance requirements and regulations.

- Collaborate with internal departments, including the sales team, finance, and compliance, to streamline billing processes and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.

- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for DME medical billing operations to optimize efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with industry standards.

- Conduct regular audits and quality assurance checks to monitor billing accuracy, identify trends, and address any areas of improvement or training needs within the team.

- Stay informed about changes in healthcare regulations, insurance policies, and billing guidelines related to durable medical equipment and ensure that billing practices remain compliant and up-to-date.

- Provide regular performance feedback, coaching, and training to billing specialists to enhance their skills, knowledge, and performance in medical billing.

- Collaborate with leadership to set departmental goals, track key performance metrics, and develop strategies to achieve objectives and continuously improve billing operations.

- Serve as a resource and point of contact for complex billing inquiries, escalated issues, and resolutions, demonstrating professionalism and exceptional customer service.

- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork, open communication, and a shared commitment to serving patients with excellence.

**Qualifications**

- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field preferred.

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing, with specific experience in durable medical equipment billing and reimbursement, **including hands-on experience in billing medical claims.**

- Proven leadership experience with a track record of effectively leading and developing teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

- Strong knowledge of medical billing practices, regulations, and compliance requirements, particularly related to DME billing and reimbursement.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, internal stakeholders, and external partners.

- Detail-oriented, with strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and analyze billing data, trends, and metrics to drive performance improvement.

- Proficiency in medical billing software, Salesforce, and Google Suite preferred.

- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) certification required.

- Commitment to excellence, integrity, and continuous learning in the field of medical billing.

**You’re the high-achiever we’re looking for if you**

- Are eager to learn, grow, and take ownership.

- Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

- Enjoy serving others and supporting their journey.

- Thrive on impactful hard work and hold yourself to high standards.

- Embrace teamwork and proactively tackle challenges.

- Approach new projects or tasks with a "figure it out" attitude.
