Job Description

The Market Intelligence Manager is the point person for the collection, analysis, and critical reporting of market (including needed competitive information), and business information, synthesizing market-back data, ongoing market dynamics and presenting insights to provide the business with a strong market understanding of short-, mid-, and long-term trends, drivers, emerging technologies, and polyolefins market movements, forecast and projections. This role continuously provides the business with current market dynamic's assessments, insights, and impacts. In addition, this role supports the strategic marketing team in identifying and scoping high growth attractive end-markets that impact the resin and catalyst needs and brings a market perspective, delivers ongoing view of market dynamics to support the monthly operating reviews as well as support strategic long-range plans and other key senior management updates, and market perspectives.

Responsibilities

  • Gain and utilize in-depth understanding of relevant market data sources to provide business leadership and other key organizations with the needed understanding of how to view the market dynamics impacts the business.
  • Gain and utilize in-depth understanding of emerging technologies, applications, and market forces in strategic and core markets, timing, and indicators.
  • Build and manage the ongoing communication managing process to ensure the business has a view of market dynamics and impacts to be considered. Present market insights and research in a format that can be easily understood and consumed.
  • Identify and maintain up-to-date knowledge of market research and data sources, evaluating their credibility and potential business utility
  • Research marketplace trends, customer needs, competitor activity and product performance/adoption; synthesize findings and make recommendations, identifying and evaluating new market. development opportunities for management's consideration by completing new opportunity value analysis (NOVA).
  • Build and manage the PrISM management process for new product development, to include managing the timing for review by the SCLT, ensuring projects are progressing through the stage gate process and presentations and documentations meet the defined templates, and accessing the value of the projects currently in the portfolio against the business resources.
Responsibilities
  • Include assimilated competitive information on industry's suppliers, competitors, and customers to gain a deep understanding of its competitive position, strengths, opportunities, and vulnerabilities and work with competitive intelligence manager to ensure relevant inputs are included in any market insights provided.
  • Deliver reports to business management as part of the demand planning process providing needed updates on market trends, insights forecasts and competitor activity.
  • Support regional marketing team in providing data requests and dashboards to support needed sales and marketing campaigns and activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers and critical players to identify emerging needs and business challenges.
  • Identify and manage needed AI tools and platforms for data collection, aggregation, sharing, dashboarding to track and monitor market and competitive intelligence information
  • Maintain an understanding of the specialty catalyst and polyolefins business from a product portfolio, industry marketing platform and overall strategic standpoint.
  • Support and participate in cross-functional project teams across markets and technologies, as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • BS in marketing, science, technology, or engineering fields.
  • 5 years (inclusive of education and prior internships) of B2B marketing experience.
  • Experience in market research gathering.
  • Experience in translating data into insights that drive business understanding of the market.
  • Strong ability to think critically and derive insights from multiple data sources.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadline constraints.
  • Problem-solving with the ability to break down problems to determine a path forward.
  • Strong internal and external communication skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate technical issues with simplicity, internally and externally.
  • Passion, ability, and interest to learn about new technologies, markets, and applications.
  • Hands-on, strong work-ethic and sense of ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • B2B marketing experience ideally in a chemical technology company.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com and other databases.
  • Experience in technology / polymer supply chain.
  • MBA in marketing or finance.
  • Experience with artificial intelligence or business intelligence tools.
