What You'll Do

As our Labor Operator/CDL driver, you will operate Dyno Nobel trucks and specialty equipment to deliver commercial explosives products to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. In addition to completing customer deliveries, you will be responsible for packaging bags of ANFO and working on the blast patterns for completion. Other duties will include:

* Prepare and maintain records and reports concerning the handling and transportation of explosive products, including safety and the use and detonation of explosives, in order to ensure accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and performance history

* Manage and maintain our local packaged/bulk site facility; duties include ordering of packaged and bulk explosive natures and associated initiating systems

* Drive/operate a range of delivery vehicles over public roads in order to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a safe and timely manner

* Drive and operate delivery units in order to deliver packaged products and accessories to customer sites

* Operation of rigid-frame, engine-powered machines (skid steer) and associated equipment (trailer)

* Use basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs or maintenance while in the field

* Calibrate equipment, calculate fuel percentages, and check emulsion density

* Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in the shop while driving and operating equipment, and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and safety of otherd

* Work accurately with numbers and perform simple mathematical calculations

* Proactively handle safety issues and practice Take 5! Process; undertake Job Step Analysis in order to assess risks when approaching new tasks

* Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event

What We're Looking For:

* Minimum high school diploma or equivalent preferred

* CDL Class A required or Class B accepted if willing to work towards obtaining a class A.

* Air Brakes endorsement required

* Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required (or be willing to obtain)

* Must be willing to undergo and pass an ATF background check as required to be a possessor of explosives

* Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally

* Must be at least 21 years of age

* Must be able to move items weighing up to 60lbs repetitively over the course of a working day

* Must be able to work Monday - Friday early morning start times (anywhere from 8 to 14 hours daily)

* Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
