THE POSITION

The Department of Health (DOH) Bureau of Community Health Systems (BCHS) is searching for a Clerical Assistant 2 to support the organization's mission of providing infrastructure for the implementation of core public health functions. If you want a position where you can field customer calls and provide clerical support to the District Office and the State Health Centers, this is the job for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will provide clerical support for state health centers and clinics using DOH procedures to ensure operations run properly. You will answer, log, and refer calls using your knowledge of department and bureau policies and procedures, as well as local government, community, and commonwealth programs, to provide information and referral on DOH programs to the general public. You will also maintain and distribute state health center literature; distribute educational materials on DOH programs to community agencies and schools; submit case reports, and maintain information in the Statewide Immunization Information System database.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
