Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Accountant will create journal entries, perform account reconciliations and lead internal controls activities. The team member will provide directions for invoicing, billing, cash receipts, and receivables. It will also be important to manage accruals, prepaid expenses, and clearing GRIR issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prepares and enters routine journal entries to the general ledger and prepares adjustment journal entries as needed.
  • Maintain monthly accruals.
  • Direct the processes for accounts payable tasks collaborating with the Accounts Receivable specialist. (Purchase order, non-purchase order, and intercompany requests for payment).
  • Reconciles balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensures internal controls are in place and audited internally.
  • Submit key information on aging for receivables and payables.
  • Resolve issues in the Doku@web system for any discrepancies in invoicing with the vendors and purchasing department.
  • Assist Chief Financial Officer in preparation for year-end audit; compile audit request, financial statements and subsequent notes, and coordinate as necessary with the external audit team.
  • Review SAP AP/AR Reports (Hold, Price, and Distribution Accounts), identify issues, and work with Purchasing to obtain resolution.
  • Apply knowledge of Sale and Use Tax as it relates to manufacturing invoices.
  • Create work instructions for procedures related to accounting.
  • Provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
  • Adhere to all company and accounting policies concerning invoices and payments.
  • Demonstrate the highest ethical standards in managing company assets.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance OR an Associate’s degree with 2+ years’ of experience in an accounting or finance setting
  • Experience working in finance in a manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with SAP preferred

Computer and Technology Skills:

  • Microsoft office proficiency
  • SAP experience is helpful

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization. German language speaking skills is another advantage.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and ability to apply concepts such as: fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
