DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:
- Ensures the well-being and protection of every resident through the delivery of high-quality care.
- Promotes and supports a positive work environment focused on team building and collaboration.
- Provides on-call backup to community when not on duty.
- Maintains confidentiality of all pertinent personal or health information concerning residents and staff.
- Ensures that all the needs are met for the residents as well as supervises staff that is on the shift.
- Ensures that any incident reports are completed properly and promptly.
- Prepares necessary medical paperwork as needed.
- Assists with compliance in meeting regulations and is available for state licensure surveys.
- Maintains resident files and appropriate documents as required.
- Assists Medication Aides and CNAs in service delivery and training as requested.
- Notifies DON of any new doctors' orders that are received and inform DON for any med changes.
- Performs inventory management for medication administration by Medication Aides and checks new medications from the pharmacy.
- Assist with picking up shifts on an evenly distributed schedule among nursing staff as needed.
- May be needed for care conferences and updates care plans in accordance with regulations.
- May be asked for input on creating nursing policy by the administrator/DON.
- Assists with updates to code book for assisted living and memory care.
- Obtains, administers, and documents prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques and facility standards of practice.
- Observes residents, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor, family (responsible party), and physician of residents change in condition and reaction to drugs, treatments, and significant incidents.
- Takes temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess condition of resident.
- Keeps resident family and physician informed of any changes in resident behavior, medications, or conditions of health.
QUALIFICATIONS:
LPN or RN
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with PointClickCare software
