Job Description
Basic Function: First point of contact for all members, non-members, guests and vendors. Acquire and maintain member relationships through exceptional member service by opening accounts and offering relevant products and services that meet the member’s needs including consumer loans. Actively contributes to the achievement of the branch sales and service goals. Ensure members and potential members are serviced efficiently and accurately.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
• Accurately handle member and non-member transactions
• Answer member and potential member inquiries
• Balance and detail (cash drawer, recycler, coin machine and vault as scheduled - daily, weekly, etc.)
• Reconcile all ITM accepted negotiable items against reports for accuracy - weekly, if applicable
• Answer phones
• Accurately open and close accounts
• Order/count cash
• Ensure all audit and security policies and procedures are followed
• Scan negotiable items and other member documents
• Process night drop deposits and payments
• Verify and balance Travel and Gift cards
• Order supplies for location
• Compile End-Of-Month work
• Process check orders
• Filing, shredding, etc.
• Assist with processing and closing loan applications
• Assist Branch Manager and other team members
May be required to handle responsibilities during Manager's absence
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
12 - 18 months credit union experience or other financial institution experience as Teller and with sales experience
High School diploma, GED, or Equivalent Certificate
Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred
Complete satisfactorily all in-house training
Working knowledge of Credit Union’s technology, including but not limited to core system; Online and Mobile applications
Proficient computer/technology skills
REGISTRATIONS
This position requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Officer (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Lending System (NMLS) and registry on an annual basis in addition to maintaining updates as needed. Must be registered and approved by the NMLS registry within sixty days of hire date. Failure to register or maintain a current registry, or any criminal activity that would bar continued participation as a MLO may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
