Description

This role coordinates, implements, executes tasks and maintains a proactive plant specific program to achieve Plant Safety, Health, Security and Emergency Response goals and objectives.

Essential Functions / Key Accountabilities

  • Ensures the implementation of day-to-day Safety and Health programs.
  • Acts as the Plant resource for related Safety and Health information on procedures, guidelines, and standards.
  • Plant contact for Safety and Health issues.
    • Captures and ensures completion of safety action items using PM Ops.
    • Evaluate PPE available and make best selections to meet needs/requirements.
    • Manage Uniforms: fits, orders, repairs, locker assignments etc.
  • Coaches' /trains teams and individuals on Safety and Health related tasks, activities, and requirements.
    • Implements safety procedures to meet regulatory requirements as per Corp HSSE Process Manger.
    • Update as needed to address changes in regulations as per Corp HSSE Process Manger.
    • Assign and ensure completion of safety trainings to cover OSHA and Monument required topics.
  • Develop and assist in achieving area or plant Safety and Health goals.
  • Ensures compliance tasks are completed.
  • Responsible for Supervision and Performance Management of the Site Safety Specialist(s)
  • Manage Safety Specialist(s)
  • Primary Site contact for HSSE portions of the Growth Process
  • Coordinates the IH monitoring, data collection, analyzing and reporting for the Plant. (CTEH)
  • As required participates in the Safety and Health related reviews and projects. (Projex, PSSR, MOC etc.)
  • Coordinates the schedules for audits in the Safety and Health related areas.
    • Owns safety tools in Pm Ops. Sets assignments and runs reports to help address potential problem areas.
  • As required conducts and documents investigations of incidents and ensures follow up actions to prevent reoccurrences are addressed.
  • Primary Site contact for all required ERM related reports
  • Medical Clinic Site Contact with direct interface with Corp Medical process owner.
    • Injury case management.(Tower via Alliance)
    • Return to work clearance for work related injuries.
    • Schedule Annual physicals. (Alliance)
    • Schedule Random D/S (Alliance)
    • Code invoices for payment
  • Site emergency response leader.
    • Live Fire Training in conjunction with Houston area ESS leader
    • Rescue Team training
    • Medical training Coordination
    • Certified ECA/EMR
    • Incident Commander
    • Incident Safety Officer
  • Site security
    • Certified Facility Security Officer (FSO)
    • Coast Guard compliance.

Education

University degree, Safety& Health, or related certifications (COSHO, SHEP, Etc)

Experience / Required Skills

Minimum 10 years plant experience in HSSE.

Certifications / Licenses List any required and preferred certifications/licenses


Physical Demands

  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long periods of time, up to 12 hours per day.
  • Working from a seated position for up to 12 hours per day.
  • Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, ramps and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms one to two times per day.
  • Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling and walking, standing or crouching on narrow or slippery surfaces.
  • Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.

  • Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force, exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force consistently to move objects forward, downward or outward.
  • Using upper extremities to exert up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force consistently to draw, haul or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Raising objects up to 25 pounds occasionally, and/or up to 15 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds consistently from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
  • Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.
  • Possible subject to environmental conditions. Activities could occur inside and outside.
  • Subject to extreme heat. Temperatures above 100 for periods of more than one hour.
  • Subject to vibration. Exposure to movements of the extremities or whole body. Operate/drive utility vehicle.
  • Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate PPE for tasks as required. FRC uniform, hard hat, safety toe work boots, safety glasses, gloves etc.
