A crane operator must know lever and pedal control, drive cranes to jobsite, examine them daily for safety, and operate them under supervision. You should hoist and lower materials precisely following ground workers' hand gestures.

Crane operators must clean and repair lifting mechanisms, operate cranes efficiently, and ensure safety. Crane operators must maintain precision, work in adverse weather, and follow verbal, written, or signal instructions.

Crane Operators lift, transport, position, and place building materials and supplies with mobile cranes.

Operators also follow safety rules and report vehicle repairs and hours.

Operator operates without direct supervision and must sit, stand, move, and climb for the required hours Monday through Friday from 8AM-5PM, with possible overtime on Saturdays. This is a 2-3 month position with possible extension, not guarenteed.

MAIN DUTIES

• Being nice and professional with clients
• Safe work zones at each jobsite
• Following delivery timetable and task instructions precisely
• Where to place supplies and components
• Following traffic and weight laws
• Adding/removing material
• Installs wall, floor, and roof trusses with mobile crane.
• Calculates load capacity by comparing item weight to crane capacity based on manufacturer specifications.
• Checks clearances, overhead lines, and other obstructions to prevent accidents and damage to employees, buildings, loads, and equipment.
• Assesses ground conditions for crane setup safety.
• Checks cranes for damage before operation and repairs them.
• Follows federal, state, and company safety regulations, rules, and best practices.
• Keeps operating logs.
• Completes other tasks as given.

QUALIFICATIONS AND NEEDS

• Valid CDL
• NCCCO-certified 1 year minimum experience
• Clean Driving Record
• Knows lift plans and crane hand signals
• Understanding directions, safety requirements, and keeping records requires good verbal and writing communication skills.
• Mechanical problem-solving.
• Must occasionally lift 50 pounds.
• Very good depth perception and reaction time.
• Following hand signals, keeping logs, and inspecting machinery requires visual acuity.
• May work in extreme heat and cold.
• This is an e-Verify position

REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERT

• CDL
• NCCCO Certified 1 Year Minimum experience with Crane

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Experience Operating a Crane
