Position Summary:
PURPOSE:
Our vehicle interface engineering team is at the forefront of innovation, developing cutting-edge solutions that help our customers succeed. As a vehicle interface engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging and impactful projects, learn from experienced engineers, and make a real difference in the world.
You will have the chance to:
- Learn about vehicle Controller Area Networks (CAN bus)
- Work with an engineer on the reverse engineering process
- Get hands on experience with vehicle networks
- Solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions
- Collaborate with other teams to ensure that our products meet all requirements
- Make a real impact on our customers' businesses
We are looking for someone who is:
- Interested in embedded networks, protocols and standards particularly those used in the automotive industry such as CAN, OBD, SAE J1939, J1979, ISO 11898, 15765.
- Highly motivated and eager to learn
- A team player with excellent problem-solving skills
- Able to work independently and under pressure
Primary Responsibilities:
- Utilize industry tools to analyze data observed or captured directly from vehicle networks to decode function and form
- Create scripts and configuration files using the captured vehicle data
- Develop high quality internal documentation for use by technical and non-technical internal customers.
- Work with a team of engineers to design and implement new features
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
KEY PROFESSIONAL / TECHNICAL SKILLS
- Must be technically astute with an inquiring mind; they will combine the ability to understand machine-to-machine networks and how they are applied in vehicle systems, detailed analytical ability, and the practical attitude and capability to work successfully on vehicles in the field.
- Experience using scripting or programming languages to solve small or large problems (e.g. Groovy, python)
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Agility and mindset to be flexible in balancing the strategic, with the operational.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, results oriented, environment.

Education Areas:
