The Sporting Club at The Bellevue features nearly 100,000 square feet of health, fitness, athletic and social facilities. The facility includes a basketball and pickleball court, state of the art fitness equipment, private saunas, an indoor Olympic sized pool, and various fitness classes. Additionally, the club features 2 squash courts and a golf pavilion with 3 simulators, a hitting net and putting green. Recently, the Sporting Club has gone through a complete renovation transforming it into the ultimate health and wellness destination in Philadelphia.

The Sporting Club at The Bellevue has an exciting opportunity for Barre Instructors to join our growing team. We are looking for individuals who are highly energetic, possess strong customer service skills, and have the ability to motivate, inspire, and lead large groups. Barre Instructors will program and design their own workout, within Sporting Club guidelines and parameters, letting their unique personality shine through. They must be passionate, dedicated, and committed to each member's fitness journey and create a dynamic and inclusive class environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver group exercise classes that are motivating and entertaining
  • Provide a superior member experience by consistently exhibiting a positive outlook, dedication to fitness, and high-level customer service
  • Elevate the member experience by actively engaging with members, motivating them, and providing a safe and challenging workout
  • Explain and demonstrate proper form and technique. Provide support and instruction to members as needed throughout the class
  • Utilize in studio technology as instructed and create an exciting playlist following TSC guidelines
  • Attend all mandatory team meetings and complete required trainings
  • As available, instruct a minimum of 2 classes per week and be available to sub and cover for other instructors
  • Effectively conduct class(es) that begin and end on time, are effective, and safe in nature
  • Prepare room for on-time start. Clean up studio after class
  • Ensure studio equipment is maintained and the studio meets or exceeds safety and functional standards
  • Communicate equipment needs to studio coordinator
  • Utilize online class registration and check-in procedures to manage attendance and reservations
  • Positively promote class registration and other club initiatives as communicated by the studio coordinator and/or management teams
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Hold a current, nationally recognized Group Exercise Certification
  • Prior experience instructing group fitness classes in specified formats
  • Ability to teach multiple formats is preferred
  • Current CPR/AED and first aid certification required


Technical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Proficient use of studio equipment and technology
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be assertive, enthusiastic, and punctual
  • Must be patient and comfortable dealing with member complaints
  • Ability to lead and motivate
  • Dedication to maintaining personal integrity and one's own health and fitness


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 50 pounds daily
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk around the Club for various lengths of time and at various points in time throughout a scheduled shift
  • Ability to promote fitness and complete workout classes each shift
  • Ability to communicate effectively with members, staff, and guests
