PRIMARY FUNCTION/RESPONSIBILTY

The Program Director is responsible for implementing, oversight and managing the support service for youth in foster care. Manages teams responsible for case care coordination activities, aging out and independent living service coordination, biological parent support, various referrals management and effective protocols for Belong Region 8b.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provides information and guidance to case care supervisors, client services and community resources.

• Reviews assignments made to case care specialists.

• Provides support and guidance to case care supervisors in the execution of all case care related duties.

• Oversees comprehensive case care services for assigned clients including but not limited to entitlements, housing, employment/education, vocational training, health, mental health treatment, and substance abuse services, and social and community integration.

• Oversees client intakes, assesses client needs, service plans and/or service referrals to achieve self-sufficiency.

• Ensures the ILS/ PAL Program provides services to youths in collaboration with community partners and their DFPS counterparts.

• Ensures the Family Navigator Program provides support services to biological parents as necessary to help support successful family reunifications.

• Ensures oversight for referral and coordination duties related to TDFPS daycare, Interstate Contract on the Placement of Children and Youth for Tomorrow/Level of Care processing.

• Ensures all transportation requests are completed timely and within agency guidelines.

• Generates program reports and oversees accuracy of client information in client database system(s).

• Supervises all incident reporting and other client activities to ensure proper documentation and data entry.

• Demonstrates a sense of urgency while responding to TDFPS and Provider Network to meet contract deliverables; prioritizes customer's needs and follows up to evaluate customer's satisfaction.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Child Welfare or related field.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Previous supervisory experience.


Preferred:

• Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Child Welfare or related field

• 3+ years supervisory experience in child welfare.


Certifications/Licenses/Registrations:

• Valid Texas Driver’s License, good driving record, ability to provide own transportation and proof of current automobile insurance.

Trainings/Licensure/Certifications as required by SJRC Texas/Belong.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND INFORMATION

  • Body mobility to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, and walk and walk briskly.
  • Stamina to work long days and drive long distances.
  • Moderate to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Must have the ability to communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have the ability to give and receive verbal and written instructions (with or without hearing aids).
  • Must have the ability to read fine print, have sustained vision, and peripheral vision (with or without glasses).
  • Environment requires dexterity to remain calm and adapt to fast paced and emotional environments.
  • Home-like settings with varying moderate to high degrees of background noise.
  • Light and ventilation are found in a typical home setting.
  • Campuses are smoke-free, except on permitted campuses in designated areas.
  • Possible injury when lifting or moving if employee fails to use proper body mechanics, or if proper techniques are not used.
