Position Purpose & Summary

Provide memorable guest experience to club members, hotel guests, and public guests in casual to upscale dining environments. Offer complete knowledge of service standards and menu offerings while maintaining high level of customer service. Create and promote beverage offerings using proper drink-making techniques and quality products.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains work schedule as assigned and communicates any necessary scheduling requirements to management in advance of schedule release.
  • Provide detailed and thorough knowledge of culinary and beverage items.
  • Upsell premium offerings and add-ons to enhance guest experience.
  • Complete required and suggested training to achieve maximum knowledge.
  • Provide thoughtful and complete product suggestions.
  • Complete opening and closing side work.
  • Maintain precise cleanliness of working area.
  • Utilize proper service techniques including following specific recipes and required use of measuring devices.
  • Assist service staff with making product recommendations.
  • Ensures that safe alcohol service techniques are observed at all times.
  • Maintain service in assigned section/dining room as determined by management.
  • Ensures that all drink orders placed by servers are recorded and charged correctly.
  • Ensures that all orders are recorded and entered into point-of-sale system accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that all food and beverage orders are delivered correctly and promptly.
  • Secures and processes payment quickly and accurately.
  • Manages cash bank with precision. Provides servers with change when needed.
  • Maintain all guest checks and complete shift paperwork as assigned.
  • Complete cleaning and stocking duties thoroughly and as assigned.
  • Maintain product rotation and assist management in assessing par levels and product needs.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of high-quality beverage offerings based on current trends and product availability.
  • Be prepared to speak to the offerings of the entire Resort and Spa including services offered and hours of operation.
  • Deliver "GGRC Hospitality" service standards and department-specific signature touch points.
  • Establish cross-departmental channels of communication among teammates that are consistent and complete.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes additional training as needed.
  • Performs deep cleaning and organizing as assigned.
  • Assists with the functions of other positions within the restaurant and across the resort as needed.
  • Maintains proper functioning and cleaning of equipment used in bar and dining room.
  • Alerts management of needed product. Rotates dated product as needed. Removes expired product when needed.
  • Assists with product inventories when needed.
  • Understands functions of departments across resort property.
  • Articulates location of departments and services when required.
  • Ability to work flexible schedule including required shifts on weekends, holidays, and as business requires.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • May require attendance of meetings and trainings outside of normal shift hours.

Position Requirements:

  1. Minimum Knowledge & Skills: Requires knowledge of food and beverage items and preparation, safe handling, and service techniques.

Possess basic math skills.

Basic knowledge of food presentation, preparation, and handling.

Customer Service skills.

Requires ability to communicate and record information in writing.

Requires basic computer skills.

1. Formal Education and Job-Related Experience: Minimum formal education of high school diploma or equivalent. One (1) year of bartending position required.

2. License, Registration, and/or Certification Required: Basic food handler certification and alcohol service certification (may be provided by organization upon acceptance of position).

  • Must be 21 years of age.

  • Occasionally - Participate in one-on-one coaching sessions and monthly meetings
