General Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to learn how to perform a variety of IT functions including designing, installing, configuring and maintaining Pioneer's Corporate Servers, backups system, virtual infrastructure, Cloud Services associated equipment to ensure their performance and integrity.

The normal hours for this position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with occassional after hours and weekend duty.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Install, configure, upgrade, provision, maintain and repair Pioneer's Corporate Servers, backup system, virtual computing infrastructure, Cloud Services and associated equipment to ensure their performance and integrity.
  • Provision, test, maintain, troubleshoot and repair Corporate applications managed by Network Services to ensure their performance and integrity.
  • Monitors network and system activity performance and reporting; applies troubleshooting skills to resolve problems as needed.
  • Takes necessary steps to accomplish objectives and displays readiness to take on new tasks.
  • Adheres to company policies, procedures, and Code of Work Ethics by projecting a positive image of the Cooperative and upholding its best interest by displaying honesty, integrity, and respectfulness in all interactions.
  • Maintains reliability and consistency of work and the ability to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Interacts and participates effectively with managers, co-workers, and others; affects positively the performance of other employees, including assisting co-workers and working to accomplish job and company objectives.
  • Must be willing and able to work during normal maintenance window defined as 12:00 am to 6:00 am.
  • Commits to performing job tasks in a manner that ensures a safe work environment.
  • Willingly and cooperatively performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completed one year in a relevant full time Career Tech Program or be entering or completing Junior or Senior year majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Management or related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of basic networking.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows applications.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, DNS and DHCP.
  • Strong working knowledge of Citrix and VMWare.
  • Strong Knowledge of Microsoft, LINUX and UNIX Operating System as well as a variety of other operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge of PC, various routers, switches, firewalls, server hardware and software.
  • Strong knowledge of computer file management and computer hardware and software.
  • Knowledge of networking principles, systems administration, IP, and security protocols.
  • Skill in analytical thinking and problem solving.
  • Good verbal, written and listening communication skills.
  • Knowledge of company products/services, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, perform under stress and achieve optimum results.
  • Ability to work with frequent interruptions and to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to effectively function as a team player and to project a positive attitude.
  • Ability to adapt in a rapidly changing technical/business environment.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions using information at hand.
  • Skill in prioritizing, completing multiple tasks, identifying problems and finding resolutions.
  • Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality guidelines in accordance with company policy.

Physical Requirements:

  • Sitting or standing for extended periods, walking, finger dexterity, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity including close vision.
  • May be required occasionally to stoop, kneel or bend and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb, stand on a ladder, and be in confined spaces for extended periods.
  • Ability to drive for extended periods.
  • Must be able to distinguish colors.
