Gloster Forest Products, LLC (GFP) is building a state-of-the-art lumber mill in Gloster, Mississippi.
The new mill will require over 1 million tons of timber annually to produce about 250 million board feet. The facility will be located on 65 acres (about the area of a large shopping mall) and represents a corporate investment of over $200 million, creating 131 jobs and supporting an additional 200 indirect jobs when operating at full capacity.

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Machine Operator to join our manufacturing team. As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining various machines within our factory to ensure efficient and high-quality production. Your attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to safety will contribute to the success of our manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities:
Operate and control assigned machines in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
Set up machines prior to production runs, ensuring proper calibration and adjustment of machine settings.
Monitor machine operations and performance, making necessary adjustments and troubleshooting issues to maintain optimal productivity and product quality.
Load raw materials into machines and ensure proper material feeding throughout the production process.
Inspect finished products for defects, inconsistencies, or quality issues, and perform routine quality checks to ensure adherence to specifications.
Perform regular machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs, to ensure smooth and uninterrupted operation.
Document machine operations, production data, and maintenance activities accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with other team members, such as supervisors, technicians, and quality control personnel, to ensure effective communication and coordination within the production process.
Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any safety concerns or incidents.
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency enhancement, and cost reduction, and provide suggestions to management for implementation.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
Proven experience as a machine operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and technical understanding of factory machines, including their setup, operation, and maintenance.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints.
Familiarity with quality control principles and practices.
Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues independently.
Physical stamina and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
