JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides for the safety and protection of guests, crewmembers and company property. Anticipates potential problems and seeks ways to prevent disruptions, injuries, and prohibited conduct from occurring on Treasure Bay premises. Responds to emergency situations as requested. Takes appropriate steps to rectify problems and at the same time minimizes any liability towards Treasure Bay Casino & Hotel.

Duties:

 Monitors and assists in the enforcement of company and departmental policies and procedures, federal, state and local laws pertaining to gaming and criminal activity and pertinent sections of company labor contracts.
 Oversees the transportation and exchange of all money transactions among the cage, count room, casino games, booths, and any other venues as needed. This includes fills, chip runs, markers, credits, slot drops, table drops and any deliveries. Surveillance should be made aware of any money movements.
 Ensures the security of the casino cage by monitoring the access to the cage as required by Treasure Bay policy and state gaming regulations.
 Accompanies persons required to enter the cage or other controlled area to perform maintenance and other services until task is completed.
 Operates a security control communications center or system at the casino security dispatch office (as assigned), monitoring emergencies, handling incoming telephone calls, dispatching officers, monitoring radio calls, and disseminating fax or BOLO alert information.
 Maintains a visible and accessible profile among casino guests and crewmembers to create a sense of security, to deter potential problems and to answer questions.
 Responds to emergency calls, and depending on the circumstances, intervenes to stop crimes and disputes in progress and/or renders first aid to guests and crewmembers as needed.
 Notifies supervisor on duty if outside agencies, such as the police or paramedics, must be contacted.
 Monitors suspicious persons in the casino/hotel and outside areas particularly those attempting to enter unauthorized areas.
 At the discretion of the shift supervisor, evicts undesirables and troublemakers as needed.
 Executes extreme weather, terrorist, fire and bomb threat procedures as directed by the shift supervisor.
 Provides an escort to premium players who wish to transport cash and/or other valuables to other casinos or to their hotel room.
 Administers lost and found policy by logging found items and advising guests and crewmembers proper procedure for claiming and recovering items.
 Assists hotel managers with lockouts, lost luggage claims, missing property reports, unanswered wake-up calls and checks the welfare of guests as needed.
 Prepares all reports for the shift including accident, incident and injury, missing property and damage reports in a factual, legible, and timely manner.
 When assigned to dispatch, maintains control of designated keys. Allows authorized persons access to various areas of the property when keys are inadvertently misplaced. Checks the key lists for authorized persons to be allowed in areas requested.
 Ensures casino surveillance is notified whenever a slot machine door is opened on the casino floor.
 Monitors the casino gaming areas, also entrances and exits, to ensure juveniles do not enter the gaming areas without authorization. Enforces company policy prohibiting videos/pictures from being taken in the casino without prior approval. If deemed necessary by upper management, the film may be confiscated when patrons will not comply with policy after being informed. Provides immediate back-up as requested to officers who are dispatched to handle emergency calls. Performs miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Prior security experience in a casino/hotel environment for a minimum of 2 years is beneficial.
 Proficient in state and local laws pertaining to law enforcement and gaming.
 Demonstrated security skills and abilities.
 Possess above average communication skills.
 Proficient in report writing skills and all aspects related to the security environment.
 Should be in excellent health and physically able to perform all duties.
 Must possess all required federal, state and local identification.
 Other job assignments as directed by upper management.
