Job Description

Summary of Position:

The I&E Foreman plays a crucial role in optimizing field system operations and minimizing total operating costs through a wide range of responsibilities. These include designing, specifying, installing, programming, calibrating, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and electrical infrastructure and instrumentation. Additionally, this position serves as a vital communication link with service companies, regulatory agencies, and the public, ensuring seamless coordination and effective handling of electrical and instrumentation work.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Aids other engineering disciplines to determine correct electrical needs for locations and equipment.
  • Reads and interprets instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and identifies when MOC is required prior to making changes.
  • Supervise and lead a team of electricians, ensuring their work is executed to high standards, promoting a culture of safety, efficiency, and teamwork.
  • Identifies and rectifies unsafe conditions for themselves and others.
  • Receives instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, specifications, and software necessary to perform scheduled, emergency, routine repairs, calibrations, and preventive maintenance.
  • Interprets drawings, sketches, software, plans and determines best work procedures, tools, equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems.
  • Repairs, rebuilds, and tests electrical components offline to be stocked as spare parts. Maintains housekeeping on all jobs and in the electrical shop.
  • Maintains all company provided tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear and effective communication throughout project lifecycles.
  • Safely operates all electrical test equipment.
  • Assists I&E Technicians with daily tasks and special projects and ensures tasks are done in a safe, accurate and timely manner.
  • Follow safe operating practices and ensure compliance with CIVI Environment, Safety & Regulatory requirements.
  • Assure work performed adheres to CIVI standards.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Organizes and oversees the schedules, work, and productivity of the team.
  • Manages their departments efficiently and in accordance with departmental goals.
  • In accordance with policy and with the support of the department head, makes hiring and selection decisions for staffing.
  • Provides performance feedback and completes evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • With the assistance of HR and the department head, handles discipline and termination of employees as needed and in accordance with company policy.

Education & Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years’ oil and gas electrical and automation/instrumentation experience required.
  • 2 plus years’ supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of NEC and OSHA standards, with the ability to perform work in a safe manner adhering to all CIVI safety guidelines.
  • Commercial Journeyman or Electrician License required. (non-residential)
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the engineering design process for electrical, and instrumentation/control; specific to oil and gas production and processing required.
  • Knowledgeable with the installation and troubleshooting of all types and sizes of AC and DC motors, generators, transformers, circuit breakers, rectifiers, electronic controls, control panels, starters, switches, lighting equipment, electronic scales, power distribution, communication systems, inverters and motor drives, conduit, and fittings, soldering and replacing parts preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC Platforms, Emerson/Rosemount devices, Vega, Micro-Motion Coriolis measurement, and Fisher/ROC. Knowledge of additional PLC platforms such as: Modicon Premium required.
  • Ability to read and interpret instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). Identifies when MOC is required prior to making changes.
  • Ability to read and understand electrical, loop and control schematic prints.
  • Proven experience in effectively managing and leading teams to achieve their objectives and meet performance targets.
