Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Internship position serves as an essential part of learning the day-to-day operations of our Service Department while analyzing and improving processes identified as lagging in profitability and/or efficiency. The goal for the internship is for the intern to gain valuable real-world work experience in their desired career path, while giving Moore's additional support within operations.

Founded in Altavista, Virginia in 1985, Moore's has grown to employ nearly 600 people across 11 office locations. Responsibilities:

  • Analyze HVAC Planned Maintenance profitability and produce an itemized list of issues causing profit losses
  • Be involved with the Customer Experience Committee analyzing current processes
  • Analyze and improve processes with the Open Call Report
  • Support staff with work orders over 45 days old
  • Support Part Coordinator on items with long lead times helping to close the gap
  • Analyze communications between office and field while advising improvements
  • Support the department with preparatory work for new software; create processes, analyzing reporting, training, etc.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Business Administration or Management
  • Excellent computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-first mindset
  • Desire to learn and grow
  • Transportation and ability to commute to the Altavista Offices
  • Great sense of humor
