Yates Industries is looking for a Shop Manager to join our team in Austell, GA!

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Shop Manager will oversee new cylinder assemblers, test-paint, saw, CNC, manual machinists and shipping & receiving personnel.
  • Establish daily schedule for all new department employees and cylinder assembly including what priority of jobs is needed and what jobs need assembled to meet customer due dates
  • Shop Manager will review return material authorization
  • Evaluate warranty cylinders/parts that come in for the new department and assesses work required
  • Shop Manager will delegate or perform necessary pre-assembly work
  • Shop Manager will check components in job pan and ensures correct and all present for assembly
  • Manage paperwork process flow for all orders in assembly, CNC, ship/rec and test/paint
  • Shop Manager will oversee/supervise assembly mechanics for use of correct data when processing jobs
  • Maintain on-time delivery of finished goods
  • Notify sales department ahead of time about any jobs not meeting due date. Works with sales and engineering to asses new order delivery dates
  • Oversee in process and final quality of product before shipping to customer
  • Shop Manger will assist new department employees with training
  • Answer questions and assists in manufacturing as required
  • Shop Manager will coach and train employees on all correction action request forms to find root cause, 5-y, and fishbones
  • Shop Manager will handle machine preventive maintenance
  • Evaluate non-conforming product for proper disposition
  • Ensure safety at all times and reports any issues to management
  • Complete employee annual reviews in conjunction with Plant Manager
  • Shop Manager will promote a positive culture in accordance with the company’s policy and practices
  • Responsible for New Department cleanliness and organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Directly supervises employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Made2Manage, and Microsoft Outlook.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
