Job Description

The primary function of this position is completing assigned projects in a timely manner and within budget constraints. This role is responsible for accomplishing completed projects by effectively utilizing personnel, tools, and equipment assigned. Additionally, this position ensures that the crew assigned completes the work in a safe manner and quality workmanship.

AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Accountable to ensure all safety programs and requirements are followed and fulfilled.
  • Authorized to accept change orders & secure additional work in accordance with company policy.
  • Authority to requisition materials & shop fabrication according to company policy.
  • Authority to dismiss employees/subcontractors with approval from Construction Manager for just cause.
  • Authorized to approve purchase for field piping materials up to 120% of budget.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Responsibilities Duties Standards of Performance

Safety Requirements

  • Ensures all health & safety standards required by the customer are met as specified by the contract and change orders.
  • Inspects work areas daily for unsafe conditions & takes action to correct unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Makes sure all safety requirements are fulfilled, and procedures are followed.
  • Conducts weekly safety meetings with personnel assigned to jobsite.
  • Reports all jobsite accidents and injuries as required by company policy.
  • Maintains adequate security to protect company tools, equipment, materials, supplies, etc.

Quality

  • Secures customer satisfaction with the construction work that is performed, including the quality of installation meets the design and performance requirements.
  • Ensures all assigned, installed projects meet RELCO’s quality standards, governmental regulations, & contractual requirements.
  • Inspects the work of those personnel assigned daily to ensure work is correct, complete, and meets required quality standards.
  • Reports errors or omissions in design, fabrication, drawings, procedures, work sequence, etc. to the Construction Manager/Construction Sites Supervisor/Project Engineer as soon as possible for direction on how to resolve the situation.

Site Relations

  • Assigns work, sets daily work progress goals, approves work procedures, and approves work quality.
  • Schedules & coordinates the day-to-day activities of equipment, personnel, and materials on his assigned jobsite in a timely & cost-effective manner.
  • Develops & maintains satisfactory relationships with customers and their personnel.
  • Coordinates onsite construction activities with those of the customer & other contractors.
  • Maintains orderly sets of drawings, bills of material, and such other documents required to perform the work.
  • Submits job progress reports, timesheets, daily diaries, & material documentation in a timely manner as required.
  • Maintains required records of work changes, additional work, back charges, etc.

Equipment

  • Maintains company tools and equipment in good working condition.
  • Maintain adequate levels of materials, fittings, parts, and supplies so as not to interrupt work progress.

Onsite Personnel

  • Approves weekly timesheets & expense reports for field staff assigned to project.
  • Explains and assigns tasks to construction personnel to complete projects in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Resolves jobsite personnel problems and, if unable to satisfactorily do so, notify Construction Manager.
  • Assists Construction Manager/Construction Sites Manager to provide required technical training for field crew members.
  • Informs Construction Manager of concerns, problems, questions, suggestions submitted by construction personnel.
  • Assist Construction Manager in evaluating construction personnel performance.
  • Recommends disciplinary actions to Construction Manager.

Other

  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Assists Construction Projects Manager in developing work crew schedules, job progress reports and work procedures.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience: 1 year of experience working in similar working capacity
