Job Title: Project Manager

Job Summary:

This Project Manager position within the III Armored Corps (III AC) Public Affairs Office (PAO) offers an opportunity to lead comprehensive communication strategies aimed at improving public perception and engagement, including developing standard operating procedures, annual communication plans, and campaigns for events such as major training exercises.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assisting the III AC PAO in evaluating communication efforts and developing and communicating comprehensive strategies to improve public perception and engagement
  • Planning, directing, coordinating, and overseeing all marketing and communication efforts, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
    • Projects include but are not limited to: developing standard operating procedures, creating annual communication plans, developing communication campaigns for specific events (e.g. major training exercises or national observances), creating research reports on media markets, drafting monthly communication playbooks, and developing enduring communication plans to meet the Commanding General's intent
  • Leading and supervising a team of specialists in social media, website design, and multimedia production, fostering a collaborative environment
  • Working closely with the III AC PAO, attending planning sessions, coordinating events, and ensuring consistent messaging across all platforms
  • Implementing quality control plans to ensure all communications meet high standards and align with government regulations
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on the effectiveness of communication strategies, adjusting as necessary to achieve objectives

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Proven experience in marketing and leading a marketing team
  • Demonstrable experience in developing and executing marketing campaigns
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
  • Strong project, stakeholder, and time management skills
  • Experience with digital marketing forms such as social media marketing and content marketing
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to conceptualize communication strategies and execute them through team management

Desired:

  • Master's degree in a communications-related field
  • Project Management Professional Certification, Professional Scrum Master, and/or Lean Six Sigma certification
  • Previous experience working with or in the military
  • Experience in a government contracting environment
  • Deep knowledge of communication best practices and trends, especially in digital/social media
  • Strong understanding of military public affairs context and practices

Work Setting and Environment:

  • Monday - Friday, normal working hours
  • Work is to be performed onsite at Fort Cavazos
