Field Service Technician

About this role:

We are looking for a highly skilled Field Technician to deliver exceptional maintenance facilities service to our customers. In this role, you would be the eyes and ears in the field, responsible for completing service tickets in a designated territory. The high level of execution you’d bring to the table would help serve our mission to deliver exceptional service to each of our customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that changes and problems get documented and communicated.
  • Carry out assigned tasks and work orders with minimum direct supervision.
  • Clear lines of professional communication with Lead Technician(s)/Field Supervisor(s)/Field Manager(s) and office staff on open issues and progress of all work assigned.
  • Successful execution of assigned programs/work orders as they relate to cost, quality, timing and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of assigned work area.
  • Effectively document and communicate work required and executed out in the field.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including “on-call” availability
  • Ability to travel within 500-1500 miles a week to customer sites

Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5 plus years of experience in most or all of the following skills:
    • Carpentry (cabinet repair)
    • Plumbing (run a power auger, change out sinks and faucets, use of sewer machine, experience working on commercial toilets, water heaters, running a rodder)
    • Electrical (basic electrical knowledge)
    • HVAC
    • Painting
    • Drywall Repair (Wall Repair(s): Drywall, Painting, Masonry work, Stucco/EIFS)
    • Flooring Repairs
  • High school diploma, or equivalent certification
  • Related vocational education or certifications preferred
  • Proficient computer and mobile phone skills (preferably iOS and Android)
  • Intermediate proficiency reading assembly and blueprint drawings.
  • Proven mechanical aptitude
  • Proven ability to accept direction and complete tasks as assigned while working as part of a team or individually.
  • Ability to provide own hand tools and toolbox suitable for the job (a list of those recommended will be provided).
  • Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.
  • Capability to apply up to 200 pounds of torque
  • Ability to work bending, stooping, standing, sitting, and lying down
  • Willing to travel 500-1500 miles a week as needed
  • Daily travel to customer locations is required
