Job Summary:

We are seeking a part time cook to join our exceptional team to prepare meals, often from scratch, according to our standard recipes. In this position, your principal goal will be to prepare high-quality hot or cold meals that meet the chef or kitchen manager’s exact specifications. Cooks play an essential role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and kitchen growth. This position will primarily work days and nights, including weekends and holidays. Hours are limited in the winter months.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure the preparation station and the kitchen is set up and stocked for upcoming recipes
  • Prepare entrees, breaks, and appetizers required for each shift
  • Report to the kitchen manager and follow instructions
  • Make sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards
  • Operate food production equipment
  • Clean prep areas, workstations, and take care of leftovers
  • Stock inventory and supplies, put away deliveries timely and properly
  • Cook and plate menu items using independent judgment in presentation and food quality assessment
  • Look ahead and prep feature items for following shifts
  • Sanitize all surfaces in the kitchen at the end of each shift
  • Deep clean kitchen equipment in any down time., including but not limited to the grill, oven, stoves, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification
  • Prior experience in a similar or related position
  • In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods
  • Possess safe knife handling skills
  • Excellent communication, organization, and reliability skills
  • Aptitude for multi-tasking
  • Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently as part of a team
  • Ability to work flexible hours including holidays and weekends as needed
  • Ability to stand for 8-hour shifts and lift at least 20 pounds
